As a QA Automation Engineer at Finreach Solutions, you will work together with our QA team of 2 to drive our QA best practices further. This position provides the opportunity to build and shape our processes while working hands-on to execute tests and scripts for continuous improvement of our platform and our Switch Kit business unit. 


We are currently transforming from a product/solution business to an API Platform business and as such you will be an integral part of our engineering teams with a very broad impact, with visibility throughout the organization and a significant opportunity to take ownership. What you'll achieve: 


First weeks:

  • Become comfortable with our tools and processes by partnering with a member of your team to ramp up effectively

  • Consult with internal stakeholders in product and engineering on best practices and standards within Finreach Solutions

  • Use your QA experience to build a ‚quality culture‘, working closely with Engineering and Product to educate and empower.

First Months

  • Take ownership of the development and execution of automated tests for our existing product and new features

  • Write integration tests and perform UI tests to identify gaps in the quality and security of our platform

  • Build tools and processes to ensure data quality and consistency; Document and evaluate test results

  • Create and maintain structured test cases for our complex microservices based product

  • Identify and proactively communicate improvements to support test-ability and quality outcomes.

Requirements

What you'll need to be successful:


  • Well-rounded background in Computer Science, Networks, Operating Systems, etc.

  • Strong current expertise in QA Engineering; specialising in data quality and consistency OR frontend testing automation. Experience with Linux and the command line required.

  • Proven experience in establishing test automation practices in an Agile (SCRUM) team

  • Current experience in working with MongoDB database, experience with SQL is a plus

  • Experience in Quality Assurance for web and mobile applications as well as with Selenium or API testing tools such as POSTMAN

  • Experience with different programming languages, e.g. Python/Ruby/JavaScript/Java is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills; business fluency in English is a must

  • A strong sense of ownership of the work you do and believe in doing things the right way for the right reasons

  • A fanatical pursuit of quality with a strong appreciation for the connection between the software you build and the experience it delivers to customers.

Our Stack:


Our technical stack consists of several services which are written in Java with Spring Boot. They communicate via HTTP and data is stored in MongoDB, and Elasticsearch. Our frontends are based on JavaScript with React.js. The services are running in Docker containers in a private data center for high security. Deployments are orchestrated with Ansible and Rundeck, and we are looking forward to moving to Kubernetes. We use GitHub for source control and Travis CI for continuous integration. The development process is in Scrum-based with 2-week sprints.
